HR-Payroll Specialist

Job Description

The Payroll & Recruitment Specialist is responsible for managing all payroll functions while supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle activities. This role ensures payroll accuracy and compliance, while helping attract, hire, and retain talent aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

  • Process payroll accurately and on time, including timekeeping review, calculations (e.g., retro pay, PTO, deductions), and compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Maintain and audit payroll records, personnel files, and timekeeping systems
  • Manage PTO tracking, garnishments, benefits-related payroll items, and employee inquiries
  • Support benefits administration, including reconciliations and open enrollment
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment and payroll laws

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Lead sourcing, job postings, and candidate pipeline development
  • Coordinate interviews, conduct candidate screenings, and support hiring managers
  • Manage onboarding processes, including offer letters, new hire documentation, and orientation
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment reporting
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and promote a positive candidate experience
  • Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment campaigns
  • Conduct exit interviews and maintain compliance with employment practices

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with 5-7 years of related experience (Bachelor's preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, and HR practices

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HR systems, and recruiting tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism with confidential information
